I grew up knowing 3 grandmothers, all of whom knit and /or crocheted.  My maternal grandmother taught me how to knit, my first project being a pin cushion.  I knit on and off through the years, but I picked it up seriously again when I realized I had to do something while sitting through swim practices and meets.  When I retired from working with my husband, I realized I wanted to go back to my roots in some way and be more immersed in fiber and get closer to local farming.  A yarn shop seemed perfect.  Over 20 years later I’m still here with yarn, buttons, beads and all things for the knitter and crocheter.The shop has changed focus over the years evolving more to my own taste rather than trends. Through my working with members of the Hudson Valley Textile Project, I am able to carry a selection of yarns sourced and milled in New York State.  Through this connection I also started to make felt, again from locally sourced roving.  I work with farmers and makers in addition to creating felt items of my own.
