Cornwall Yarn Shop News

September 3, 2007
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We're MOVING
There is so much to tell our heads our spinning. The new fall yarns are seeming to take a back seat (for just a moment) to all of our news.
When it rains, it pours; so hold on to your hats, because September is going to be a wild ride! Just a few tickets remaining for our Hudson River Cruise - so call now if you don't have your ticket!
New Home at 227 Main St.
The Cornwall Yarn Shop is moving to a "permanent" (is anything permanent ?) home at 227 Main St. It will be VERY different from our current space, but will enable us to do new & exciting things. We have to be there by September 15, so we may have to close a day or two to get it all done. But if you do have a needle emergency, we'll be either here or there. It would be safe to say you should call the week of September 10 to check our hours. We will NOT be open any Sunday in September - except to enjoy a few hours on the Hudson River !!
Fall Festival Saturday September 15
Join us at Cornwall's Annual Fall Festival. Carlotta & Martha will be on the street with all kinds of inspiring sock knitting ideas from Southwest Trading Co.
There will be demonstrations, and prizes. Then walk down the street to our new home at 227 Main St and check out our sale items. Don't ask me now what will be on sale, because I'll probably say whatever I can't fit in the house!!
Louisa Harding is coming to our shop!!
British designer, Louisa Harding, will be making her visit to the CYS, her ONLY visit to this area. You may know her as a designer for Rowan, by her many pattern books, including the Miss Bea series or by her yarn line with Euro Yarns. We are honored to welcome her with a reception at our new shop on Thursday, September 20 from 5pm to 8:30 pm. Come meet her and preview her new designs & yarns for fall. Louisa Harding yarns in stock will be 25% off (September 20, 21 & 22) - ordered yarns will be 15% off (or 20% off for a full bag) **time change**Louisa Harding will be at the shop from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm on Thursday, Sept 20.
All sale yarns are non-returnable.
And yes, we do have new fall yarns - lots of them - some are on the floor (Maizy), some are in cartons (Llama Silk) and some are on their way (AslanTrends), but more on that after our move.
One last item of interest:
COMMUNITY SERVICE: "Knitters are invited to participate in a community knitting event in the spirit of Eleanor Roosevelt." This is from the brochure and poster we have advertising a Knit-In to be held Sept. 9, 2007 from 1-3pm at Val-Kill, the Eleanor Roosevelt National Historical Site. Mrs. Roosevelt was an avid knitter, and we would like to have as many knitters as possible to attend this Knit-In. Bring #8 needles and acrylic yarn (Encore!) to make afghan squares for Warm-Up America. You can call Val-Kill at 845-229-9422 for more information.
Someone from the Cornwall Yarn Shop should be there. So join us.
Sincerely,
The Crew at the Cornwall Yarn Shop
