August 23, 2006 - Cornwall Yarn Shop News

Greetings from Gail and Cynthia!

We are getting BOXES of new yarns into the shop nearly everyday, now that our fall orders are coming in! Just arrived off the UPS truck:

From Classic Elite: One of the favorite yarns of knit designers, LUSH, lives up to its name! 50% wool and 50% angora in a worsted weight makes, well, LUSH, warm, and soft garments and accessories…
WoolBamboo is also in – another 50/50 blend where bamboo makes wool light enough for transitional season sweaters and gives it a lovely sheen to show off textured stitch patterns.
Gail’s personal choice from CE was Waterlily, a soft 100% merino wool, tone-on-tone yarn. Springy and easy to knit, this yarn will make your textures and cables POP without being lost in a confusion of color.
An older CE yarn, Miracle, is back in stock. It’s a 50/50 blend of Tencel and alpaca that gives this yarn its softness, shine and strength.

From Crystal Palace, we’ve gotten in BunnyHop – cute name, great yarn! This washable blend of microfiber and ANGORA (of all things!) gives this yarn softness and durability. How durable? Ask for the free sock and baby patterns available with purchase of this yarn!
MY favorite yarn from TNNA is now in the shop! Also from CP, Meringue is a COOL blend of wool, acrylic and stretchy nylon that makes it fun to knit, and gives your finished garment a soft, springy feeling. Check out the little bear sweater to see Meringue knit up, or get a ball and try out the free earwarmer pattern with purchase.

A gentle reminder to our gentle readers: CRUISE tickets are going FAST! If you haven’t gotten yours yet, scamper on in and get ‘em soon! Space is limited, and you don’t want to miss the boat and the fun!! Don’t forget that Annie Modesitt, nationally-known designer (and featured in the latest issue of Interweave Knits) will be teaching her “Autumn Leaf Scarf” on the morning of CruiseDay (Sept. 9) and will be joining us that afternoon on the boat also. ALSO in the shop that week – the VOGUE KNITS Trunk Show – the latest knits from the most fashionable knit magazine on the market are yours to fondle! We may bring them along for the cruise, too! For more info, check out the website at: www.cornwallyarnshop.com.

And finally: WATCH THIS SPACE. Big news coming next week. No, no, you have to wait for it, but you WILL like it. I guarantee it. Until then, our lips are sealed.

Knit on! Cynthia
